We are the ones who have high blood pressure, ulcers, and heart attacks, not cats. -- Roger Caras

InsPURRation is a group for sharing inspirational and motivational stories, photos, poems, and thoughts. The initial group was made up of people who understand how soothing, helpful, and inspirational animals (and particularly cats) can be. However, you don't need to have a cat to join or participate! :-) People with dogs, rabbits, or just backyard birds & squirrels are very welcome!

There are two means of refuge from the misery of life -- music and cats. -- Albert Schweitzer

We all have bad days. The car won't start, your son has a fender-bender, the water pipes break, work gave you a migraine, you sprain your ankle, lose your checkbook, or argue with a friend.

Still there can be rainbows on the darkest day. An old friend calls; a loved one sends you flowers; you read an uplifting poem; you try a soothing new tea or find a piece of inspirational music. A rift is healed; an argument is settled. Pandora's box also held hope.

Discussion Guidelines

  • Please send us anything insPURRational that you can think of — a poem, a story, or just a bright event in your day. Share your treasures and things you are grateful for. Share stories of your own or things you found in the news.

If your inspiration comes as a result of others on this list showing you sympathy and support, please share that as well, if you like

  • Feel free to vent on occasion; however, if you're venting, please tell us early in the message. We don't promise everyone will read your vent but we know you'll feel better for having written! Vents hope for sympathy but don't really ask for responses.

  • Replies go automatically to the sender. Before responding to the group, consider whether your message should be "public".

  • In most cases, responses of sympathy, support, promises of prayers... should probably go directly to the original member. If you are sharing your own inspirational thoughts, by all means please reply to the entire list.
